Chinked
Style Construction

Full round chink style log construction with saddle-notched corners is the most common style of hand-crafted log fabrication. Naturally tapering full-length logs are hand-peeled for an authentic finish. Then saddle notched by hand at the corners for a tight fit. We use standing dry, dead Lodgepole pine and spruce logs. Historically, mud or masonry was used to fill the openings between the logs. Modern chinking remains pliable and adheres to the logs making a weather-tight, energy-efficient and lasting seal.
Advantages of Stacked Log (Full Log Chink Style)
Upon delivery to your site, reassembly of the main building structure is complete within just a few days and ready to proceed with roofing.
Logs are excellent insulators, and most homeowners enjoy significantly-reduced energy costs.
Chink style construction, including the cost of chinking, is usually much less expensive than full cope. Because chinking is pliable, it yields greater flexibility with seasonal and climatic changes.
